Ballet Rangers
It is alleged that when Scottish Ballet ran into financial difficulties and
were threatened with the loss of their Scottish Arts Council Grant in the summer
of 1997, they made an approach to Rangers FC for corporate funding. Rangers apparently
gave this serious consideration but eventually knocked back the idea when someone
pointed out that some of the fans would not take this completely seriously and
might adapt one of their favourite anthems to 'Hullo, hullo, we are the ballet
boys . . .'
